The reasons for this blog....

A few weeks ago I was chatting with Aileen Krzos (Cavalier) - she's in Stillwater, MN and I'm in Barinas, Spain. We are planning to meet this summer in the States as I will be based in Vermont before heading up to Canada. We haven't seen each other since we left school in 1978 (ouch!) so it's really very exciting. As usually happens, we ended up talking about all our old friends - wondering how they are, where they are, and if we could find and invite as many Micklefield School Old Girls as possible to join us what a blast it would be. I'm in touch with quite a few of you through Facebook and friendsreunited.com (thank you Sarah), but if you know of anyone who is not on those pages, send them this way!

So, depending on numbers we thought a semi official reunion would be a fab idea. Nothing too formal, a BBQ/picnic by Lake Champlain, a brunch or a garden party - something where all our families would be able to participate. All Old Girls are welcome, and if you attended Micklefield in the 70's and early 80's - we would really love to hear from you.

I want to use this blog as a way of trying to establish if there is any interest in girls traveling to South Burlington, Vermont in mid August 2010 - if you have never been to Vermont, it really is a beautiful state. This will help to determine what kind of event to hold - suggestions are welcomed - and I'm willing to organize the whole thing, suggest hotels and activities in the region & etc. Also, in this economic climate, I am concerned to keep costs to a minimum.
